MGMA statement on House of Representatives’ proposal to address Medicare Advantage plan prior authorization abuses

"MGMA appreciates the efforts of Representatives Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.), Mike Kelly (R-Pa.), Ami Bera, MD, (D-Calif.) and Larry Bucshon, MD, (R-Ind.), who today reintroduced the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2021. This legislation would simplify administrative processes, remove onerous prior authorization requirements for medical practices, and allow physicians to focus on their primary goal of treating patients. MGMA is eager to work with Congress to expedite passage of this necessary legislation."
