General Session Recap - The Courage to Go Together: Practical Strategies to Build More Cohesive, Collaborative and Compassionate Teams with Shola Richards

MGMA’s 2021 Medical Practice Leaders: Excellence Conference got off to a positive start on Sunday, as Shola Richards welcomed members and attendees to the San Diego Convention Center with an inspiring general session.

An author, speaker and CEO, Richards subscribes to the transformative concept of Ubuntu, which translates to “I am because we are.” He implored the audience to embrace the philosophy and answer the powerful questions necessary to revolutionize their work culture and foster civility, collaboration and compassion.

“If we really want to go forward, we’re going to have to do so together,” Richards said on a recent episode of the MGMA Insights podcast. “We can’t do this alone. That’s what this concept is about. It’s so powerful.”

    Monday's General Session:

The MPE: Leaders Conference’s keynote content will continue today at 3:30pm in Hall G, where award-winning speaker and author Erica Dhawan will deliver a presentation titled “Get Big Things Done: The Power of Connectional Intelligence.”
