President outlines 2019 budget priorities

President Trump’s fiscal year (FY) 2019 budget proposal released earlier this week includes a number of Medicare proposals relevant to physician practices, including reforming the Physician Self-Referral (Stark) and Anti-Kickback laws to align with alternative payment models. Presidents’ budgets do not have force of law. They are intended to serve as a statement of administration priorities as Congress negotiates the budget. Congress has until March 23 to draft and pass the FY 2019 budget. MGMA will continue to advocate on behalf of our members through the remainder of the budget negotiation process.
