The Medical Group Management Association’s most recent MGMA Stat poll asked healthcare professionals whether their organizations have a staff engagement program to reduce burnout. While a minority have a program in place, 71% of respondents described their organization did not yet have a program designed to reduce physician or staff burnout. Overall, 9% of respondents indicated they had a program for all staff, while 10% stated they had a program for doctors only. Additionally, 10% stated they were in the process of creating an engagement program to reduce burnout.
The poll was conducted on Feb. 20, 2018, with 1,030 applicable responses. Of the total responses, 45 indicated the question was not applicable to their situation with net 1,075 total responses.
