One of the most frustrating challenges facing practice managers of small to medium-sized private practices is the process of hiring staff. These practices do not have large human resource departments. Oftentimes the human resource department is one person: the practice manager who is also the sole person in charge of many other tasks around a medical office. On top of the lack of personnel and time to recruit new staff there is also the monetary component. Most independent practices cannot afford the high cost of competing with hospitals and large multi-specialty groups to have top posts on recruitment websites.
My proposed solution is an independent healthcare practice human resources company. I researched other ways independent organizations work together, such as independent physician groups coming together under accountable care organizations (ACOs) and professional employer organizations (PEOs) to pool resources. In addition, there are groups that help local non-profits affordably recruit employees with more visibility than on popular websites such as Monster, Indeed, and ZipRecruiter.
